Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman in business. She currently holds the position as the president of Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. The California born Buss has been raised by an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty tycoon after which he later became the owner of the Lakers. When she was in the year 1972, her parents separated in divorce and she was left feeling emotionally lost. At the age of 19 she started working within the family's company. The team was later renamed her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. Before she became vice president of the Lakers, she served as president of Great Western Forum. Buss took over her share of the Lakers by her dad in the year 2013. Her five siblings took over the franchise through an estate trust. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-owner of Women of Wrestling, a professional wrestling promotion with headquarters in Los Angeles.
