Heidi Klum was born in Bergisch Gladbach Germany on June 1st, 1973. Erna Klum was her hairdresser mother. Gunther was the father of Gunther as well as a top executive in a cosmetics manufacturer. Heidi's father worked as a Production Manager for the 4711 fragrance company. Heidi was born in Bergisch Gladbach (a city of about 100,000 residents, just about six miles to the west of Cologne) Heidi was raised in the city. The German-American former fashion model is currently a host on television and producer of fashion designers, businesswoman and actress, who is based in the southern part of California as well as Germany. Klum had to compete against thousands of other contestants across Germany as well as Europe to make it to the semifinals. In April of 1992, she was awarded the biggest prize in modeling, $300,000.
