John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado who focused on folk pop music inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a hit and have been a draw for many who have come visitors to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said it was because John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever to be a member. He is now the symbol of Colorado to people around the world. When I travel, I always encounter someone on the other side of the world someone from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes out of their mouth is"Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time with folk bands it was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the track to imitate the style of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version of the song and realized the song would be a top 10 hit. The song was performed at Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver recorded it just days later.
